Finally after settling our home for the past 4 weeks, fixing up Samuel's teeth after multiple dentist visits and a great trip to San Francisco, I attended my first day as a student at UCSB. I'm called a PhD candidate student - so until I have handed in a PhD proposal I am just a likely candidate.
I headed out from out family apartment on my trusty GT mountain bike at 8:30AM and was greeted with fresh morning Santa Barbara fog. After a 12 minute invigorating ride on University bicycle paths

Don't forget to Tweet your adventures dude (www.twitter.com). If I remember clearly, Santa Barbara was not too far from Santa Clara (en route to San Francisco)? If it is, make a trip to visit Silicone Valley, IBM, Intel, Nasa, Google etc. Have fun!
